Tony Keith, Jr. will share highlights from his dissertation research about Hip-Hop, spoken word poetry, and educational leadership. The event will feature presentations and performances by local and internationally recognized Hip-Hop educators, rappers, poets and emcees who also serve as community partners for public high schools around the country, including: Jessica Care Moore, Jessica Valoris ; William Jenkins; Yusha Assad; Princess Best Speaks; Elisabet Velasquez; Branden Balenzuela; and Veracity Savant.

Tony Keith is a recipient of the 2019 Washington DC Humanities Council Fellowship Award which supports research and scholarship about Hip-Hop educational leadership and spoken word poetry, and makes the knowledge accessible to the broader D.C. community.
Performances will be followed by a community discussion.
