About the Event
Join DC SCORES and the DC SCORES Arts Council for a special evening as we launch the 30th Anniversary Poetry Anthology at Busboys & Poets Takoma. This celebratory salon will bring together poet-athletes, alumni, parents, educators, and community members to highlight the power of poetry and performance in shaping the lives of young people across DC.
The night will feature:
🎤 Live performances from poet-athletes and alumni
đź“– Selections from the new 30th Anniversary Poetry Anthology
đź“ť Community poetry activations (Haiku Station & collaborative poem)
✨ Stories of impact from coaches, parents, and educators
This event is not only a milestone for DC SCORES—it also celebrates Busboys and Poets’ 20th anniversary as a cultural hub and DC SCORES’ official community partner. Together, we honor two decades of Busboys and Poets’ commitment to arts, activism, and community alongside three decades of DC SCORES empowering youth through soccer, poetry, and service-learning.
For 30 years, DC SCORES has been building community, leadership, and self-expression through soccer, poetry, and service-learning. This anthology captures that history while shining a light on the voices of the next generation.
