Join us for a special event with Cuban Health Professionals and U.S. Drs. graduated from the Latin America School of Medicine in Cuba (ELAM). ELAM students get free tuition and the only requirement is that after they graduate they return to practice medicine in under-served communities in their own countries. The school has so far graduated more than 20,000 students, including 170 students from the U.S.
The Cuban health professionals will talk about how the US blockade on Cuba impact the health care of the Cuban people as well as people in the U.S. who cannot access newly developed drugs and vaccines made in Cuba due to the blockade. Drs graduated from the ELAM will talk about what they learned in Cuba, and how what they learned there can improve healthcare for all in the U.S.
