Description:

Civil Rights— Honoring Our Matriachs and Patriarchs: They Marched for US

Come join us at the Busboys and Poets Anacostia as we pay tribute to the incredible individuals who fought for our civil rights. This event is a celebration of the brave men and women who paved the way for equality and justice. Let's come together to honor them-- the legendary Matriarch of Washington DC Mom Virginia Ali, Dr. Edwin Chapman, Dr. Franklyn Malone, Kenny Barnes, Roach Brown and Tyrone Parker. The struggles they did for a better world and reflect on the progress we've made. Don't miss this opportunity to show your gratitude to those who marched for us!

The first 25 who get their ticket will receive a Ben's Chili Bowls $10 gift card. Come just as you are to share your thoughts on civil rights as America appears to be going into reverse gear from right to abortion to ending DEI: diversity, equity and inclusion.

The luminaries who are still around are treasures of our rich civil rights movement history in the capital of the United States. We can learn a lot from them.
