Description:

Join us for an evening with Issa Amro in conversation with Miko Peled

Issa Amro was born in the old city of Hebron 1980. For several years now he is unable to visit the street and the house in which he was born due to illegal settler activity in the city.

He is the co-founder of the Hebron-based Youth Against Settlements initiative. In 2010, he was declared “Human Rights Defender of the year in Palestine” by the UN OHCHR and he is formally recognized as such by the European Union.

He has been arrested, beaten and tortured more times than one can count. His story is unique and it must be heard and amplified.

Peace Café is a Busboys and Poets program that offers an on-going series of events designed to bring together Arabs, Jews, and those interested in working toward a resolution to the conflict in the Middle East. The focus is on encouraging individuals from various backgrounds to share food and conversation.
