Please join Takoma Park Poet Laureate Kathleen O’Toole, fellow poets and friends in celebrating the release of her new book This Far. Copies of This Far will be available for purchase in our bookstore. Full menu and bar will also be available for individual purchase during the event.
Kathleen O’Toole’s This Far: a harvest of poems from one season in a poet’s life. A delve into the natural and aesthetic worlds for insight and consolation. Poems that interrogate inherited truths in the light of crises facing the earth and our human communities. The residue of stories and questions overheard that begged to be transcribed, or further amplified in the telling.

Kathleen O’Toole, the current Poet Laureate of Takoma Park, has braided an active public life in community organizing with teaching and writing. Her new collection, This Far, will be released in October. She is also the author of two chapbooks, Practice, and Waking Hours, and a previous full-length collection, Meanwhile. Kathleen also collaborated on In the Margins: A Conversation in Poetry with three long-time writing partners. Her poems have appeared widely in magazines and journals including America, Atlanta Review, Beltway, Northern Virginia Review, Poetry, Poetry East, Potomac Review,Prairie Schooner and Sligo Review.
