Free coffee and breakfast to celebrate opening of new Busboys and Poets 450K location

Recover from Labor Day weekend on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018 with free continental breakfast, Busboys and Poets ‘New Columbia’ coffee, and a tour of the new Busboys and Poets location at 450 K St NW in Washington, DC. With the end of the 10 year lease at the 5th & K location, Busboys and Poets steps across the street to continue another 10 years with a focus on honoring and celebrating women activists, leaders and thinkers.

The 450 K Street location is equipped with a 85-seat private event space, featuring a stage and projector, and a second more intimate 50-seat private event space, featuring a private bar and large screen TV.  The new bar expands its draft beer offering with 20 draft lines, with an emphasis on local beers. Busboys and Poets Books will be featured at the entrance.

Andy Shallal’s newest mural pays homage to fearless and powerful global women leaders with an emphasis on Angela Davis’s activist and scholarly contributions to greater freedoms and possibilities. Iconic women in the mural include Gwendolyn Brooks, Alice Walker, Frida Kahlo, Audre Lorde, Jeanette Rankin, Sonia Sanchez and Zora Neale Hurston.

Free Busboys and Poets ‘New Columbia’ coffee blend and continental breakfast and tours of the space will begin on Tuesday, September 4th at 7:00 am.  Full restaurant service will begin at 11:00 am.
