Description:

Why so serious?! If you are like us, you have found it hard to find things to laugh about. Working to change the world is grueling and daunting work, but the pursuit of happiness is what we are fighting for! So we are making time to LAUGH!

Come out and get your ribs tickled, massage your funny bone, slap a knee or two. Because LAUGHTER is an act of resistance!

Produced by Allan Sidley:

A comedian, improviser and lyricist, Allan is a jack off all trades. Allan's humor is dry, and a little wet from perspiration, usually. He pokes fun at Jews, mostly his Mom & Grandma, and dissects cultural taboos like online dating while balding or being a great +1 for a funeral. Often serious with hints of silly, Allan manages to keep dark topics light-hearted and his audiences on their toes (so bring comfortable shoes). His comedy has been described as, "great for first dates."

He's opened (the door for) Sinbad, and toured throughout Eastern Europe in the summer of 2011 (not for comedy, just a fun fact). He did however recently headline the Church of Satire comedy club. In addition to running comedy shows at Busboys & Poets in Takoma, Shirlington, and 14th & V, he manages the Tysons Comedy Cellar and shows under his production company Sidley Standup. Follow @SidleyStandup on IG & Twitter to stay up to date with shows and content.

Comedians:

Tim Trueheart - MC: Tim Trueheart is a local DM(V) renaissance man whose comedy has been described as energetic, and playfully self-deprecating. In addition to performing stand-up Tim also acts in commercials (as the token black guy), improvises with indie improv comedy troupe The Improv Imps, and co-hosts The Jellyvision Show podcast; www.thejellyvisionshow.podbean.com Check it out! Tim hosts Stand-up at Summers every Thursday.

Anna Phillips - Feature: The self-proclaimed Susan Boyle of comedy, audiences describe Anna Phillips as endearing, genuine, and hilarious. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Anna Phillips began doing stand up comedy in Syracuse, NY. While living in New York, she regularly produced several successful comedy events, including a monthly show at Syracuse and Hartford Funny Bone. Anna has appeared in prestigious festivals including Finger Lakes Comedy Festival, The Laughing Devil Cup, and Chicago Women’s Funny Festival, among many more. In a deadpan manner, Anna talks about race, family, work, and weight issues in a way anyone can relate.
Eric Koucheravy: With his offbeat sense of humor, dry cutting wit, and a demeanor that can only be described as optimistically nihilistic, Eric Koucheravy has performed standup all over the DMV. Eric has headlined The DC Drafthouse, Cozzy's Comedy Club in Newport News, the 9:55 Club in Richmond, and in peoples living rooms where he would talk about terrible jobs, dating, movies, serial killers, his hatred of magicians, drinking, driving (never both at one time), and how the Rolling Stones are actually well crafted Disney Animatronics.

Regan RileyThe Hon. Regan Riley of Frederick Maryland has performed at various regional venues and hosts the monthly Draughts and Laughs Comedy Show at Cafe Nola.

Jordan Segue: Jordan Segue started performing while he was living in San Francisco, determined to release himself from the doldrums of working in Silicon Valley and express his disillusionment of life in the Bay Area, Jordan stumbled into standup comedy as an effective creative outlet. Jordan's style is that of a deadpan, thought-provoking, and respectfully irreverent storyteller. His favorite things are Michigan football (Go Blue!), his 16 inch cast iron wok, and his detailed spreadsheet of just the 137 restaurants that he would recommend in the DC area. He hosts weekly shows on Mondays at the Eaton Hotel or Saturdays at The Ugly Mug on The Hill. Follow Jordan on IG or Facebook @DopeComedyDC!

Seating is first come first served. Full menu & bar will be available throughout the event.
