The Xavier University of Louisiana was founded by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in 1925. It is the only Catholic and Historically Black College and University, and has continually been the top producer of African-Americans who goes on to complete medical school for more than 20 years. The DMV Alumni Chapter's purpose is to bring together alumni, current students, and friends from the Washington, D.C. Metro Area.
