$150 Cash Prize for Funniest Story
DATE: Wednesday, May 21
TIME: 9 PM (Doors 8:30)
LOCATION: Busboys and Poets 14/V (2021 14th St NW, Washington DC)
Seven storytellers will have 7 minutes to tell a true, personal
funny story on the theme "shady." No notes or props are allowed. The
Judges' favorite will be announced at the end of the night and will
receive a $150 Cash Prize. The audience will also select its favorite.
Both winners go on to compete in Story League ALL-STARS (tournament)
on 6/27, where the prize jumps to $300! And the winners will also be
featured on our podcast, Story League WINNERS.

Deadline is Wednesday, May 14 at 3 o'clock. Our 3 expert judges
will consider all story idea submissions and decide which stories they
most wish to hear. You will be notified by Friday, May 16, whether you
are guaranteed to go on.
Also: 2 storytellers will be selected randomly at the contest.
Pre-selected storytellers will be strongly encouraged to do a phone
coaching session for their story.
IMPORTANT: Seating cannot be guaranteed for any ticket holder
after 9:00. Line forms approx. 8:30 and doors open at 8:45. See
