Description:

Part of the Kennedy Center's One Mic Global Hip-Hop Festival, this youth performance and discussion will bring young hip-hop artists into conversation about pressing issues for youth in DC and hip-hop culture. The first of 3 speak-outs to take place across DC leading up to the Festival, this event will offer young artists a chance to share their unique performance and perspectives and receive feedback from adult hip-hop artists. Four performers from each speak-out will be invited to perform at the Kennedy Center during the Hip-Hop Festival.Â

Each performer (or group) gets 3-4 mins to rock the stage and wow the special guest judges. Any and all hip-hop performance is welcome, including rap, dance, spoken word, music, storytelling, beat boxing, or any other appropriate art form.Â
