Busboys and Poets presents First Fridays, a recurring series highlighting artists whose works are currently on display at Busboys and Poets.
Mixing up the First Friday Gallery Walks popular to many U.S. cities, whereby arts venues all open their doors at the same time, Busboys' First Fridays will combine a reception, artist talks and the unique opportunity to meet artists whose works are currently featured in the Busboys and Poets restaurants.
Tonight you will have the opportunity to meet and view the works of three phenomenal artists:
Allison Gulick works for the Office of Community Engagement at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She is also the Coordinator for Station North Arts and Entertainment District?s Community Supported Art (CSA) program.
Amber Robles Gordon is a mixed media artist. Her preferred medium is collage and assemblage. Her work is representational of her experiences and the paradoxes within the female experience. She focuses on fusing found objects to convey her own personal memories, inspired by nature, womanhood and her belief in recycling energy and materials. Robles-Gordon has over fifteen years of exhibiting and art educational experience.
Anna Soevik A British artist who made Bethesda her home in 2000, artist Anna Rose Soevik is known for her contemporary large canvases in Europe, where she had numerous solo exhibitions, including the Fein Arts Gallery in Brussels, and the Pulchri Studio, the oldest painter?s society in the Netherlands by invitation only, at the center of The Hague.
Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.
