FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (AND HATE?)!
Join Takoma Park author and DC teacher Katia Raina in celebration of the release of her young adult debut novel CASTLE OF CONCRETE (Young Europe Books, distributed by Consortium, available where books are sold).
The novel, set in the last year of collapsing communist Russia, features a Jewish girl falling in love with a young man who may be an anti-Semite. We will talk about prejudice and the winding path from real life to story. We will sing Russian songs. The first 80 guests will be served appetizers and a free drink (for adults 21+). Anyone under 21, please come with a parent or guardian.
