A Busboys and Poetry Event guest hosted this week by Jael Benjamin
Jael Benjamin is the 2018 DC Grand Slam Champion and a member of the 2018 Busboys and Poets' Beltway Poetry Slam Team. Originally from Atlanta, she has now laid roots in Washington D.C., and looks to be an unstoppable force and passionate speaker in poetry. This vivacious Georgia Peach is definitely a millennial leader to look out for. She enjoys spoken word, yoga, and youth development.

Brandon Leake is an Award Winning Spoken Word Poet, Artistic Educator, and Motivational Speaker from Stockton, Ca. His creative mixture of art, charisma, and passion, tailored to his own unique personal narrative has taken him across the country as a speaker and performer. Brandon is also an Artistic Educator teaching a workshop series he developed entitled “Dreamerz” which is geared towards using poetry to engage youth while making literacy fun.

For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices, and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
$5 cover. Wristbands are available for purchase online at midnight and in the restaurant starting at 10:00 AM. No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event.
Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. No saved or reserved seats are allowed. Failure to check in within 30 minutes of advertised start time may result in forfeiture of seats. Sorry, no refunds.
