FEATURING: RAQUEL "RA" BROWN
Raquel "RA" Brown is a Philly Native who has been writing since age 13. She is, in her own words: The product of a gutter dude and a Cathollic school girl, and I'm STILL my favorite person to wake up with. Her style of testimonial art is vulnerable and captivating. She has performed in DC, Los Angeles, New York, Philly, Atlanta, and more, including: The Smithsonian, The Kennedy Center, The Lisner Auditorium, Lincoln Theater, Howard Theater, 9:30 Club, BET, J's Lyric Cafe', Black Hollywood Film Festival, Yin Yan Cafe' with Goodie Mob in the Uk. More than 500 copies of her book The Alpha Woman's Bible were sold without paid marketing.
For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices, and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
