DC’s own Carolyn Malachi is a shining example of how music truly is universal. Her compositions and arrangements, vocal talents, breathtaking live performances, and songwriting acumen serve global audiences of music lovers. The Grammy nominated artist, Fulbright awardee and Honorary Doctorate recipient is also the creator of GRITS & GARRI, a podcast which connects artists of the African diaspora to produce live collaborations while channelling intercultural curiosity and facilitating mutual understanding. Cryptocurrency, blockchain and international travel are among her favorite coffee table topics.

For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
