All alumni, parents, and friends are invited to join the UVA Club of Washington, DC for an evening with Stephen Cushman, Robert C. Taylor Professor, Department of English, College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. We’ll learn more about how the Civil War and poetry are related. Please join us for an engaging and informative evening! Stephen Cushman has published five collections of poetry: “The Red List” (2014), “Riffraff” (2011), “Heart Island” (2006), “Cussing Lesson” (2002), and “Blue Pajamas” (1998); two books of criticism, “Fictions of Form in American Poetry” (1993) and “William Carlos Williams and the Meanings of Measure” (1985); and two books about the Civil War, “Belligerent Muse: Five Northern Writers and How They Shaped Our Understanding of the Civil War” (2014) and “Bloody Promenade: Reflections on a Civil War Battle” (1999). |
