Join religious studies scholar and author Mathew D. Taylor for a conversation about Christian nationalism and the threat to democracy
In celebration of the 20 year anniversary of Busboys and Poets, Dr. Matthew D. Taylor is joining us on the Busboys stage to discuss his book The Violent Take It By Force and the escalation of the Christian Nationalist movement that is threatening our democracy. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during and after the event, and Dr. Taylor will be signing following the program.
This event is free and open to all. Our program begins at 6:00 pm, and will be followed by an audience Q&A. THE VIOLENT TAKE IT BY FORCE will be available for purchase before and after the event. Please note that this event is in person.

Matthew D. Taylor is a religious studies scholar and expert in independent charismatic Christianity and Christian nationalism. He is the creator, writer, and narrator of the Charismatic Revival Fury audio-documentary series on the Straight White American Jesus podcast and author of Scripture People. Taylor holds a PhD in religious studies and Muslim-Christian relations from Georgetown University and an MA in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has served on the faculty of Georgetown University and of George Washington University, and is currently a senior scholar at the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies in Baltimore.
