What does a line sound like when it hums? When it breaks like a chord? When it rises like dusk in the after-glow?

In this immersive workshop led by Charity Blackwell, we’ll explore the intersection of sound and sense, rhythm and metaphor — where poetry begins to echo the very structure of music. Inspired by the work of poets like Raymond Carver and guided by techniques such as internal rhyme, consonance, and lyrical pacing, this session invites writers to discover the music already inside their words.

🎼 What to Expect

✅ Writing prompts inspired by music, memory, and metaphor
✅ A deep dive into sound devices that give poetry its “interior music”
✅ Performance tips to find the rhythm in your delivery
✅ Space to share and reflect on the power of sonic storytelling

Whether you’re a new writer or a seasoned performer, this workshop will sharpen your ear, deepen your imagery, and give your lines a lyrical lift. Come ready to play with language and listen with intention.
