WHAT IS SPOKEN WORD TO GO-GO?
SWGG is an annual competition of spoken word artists who write original spoken word poetry to a chosen custom track created by The Experience Band & Show and perform it live in front of a panel of selected judges. Tracklist below.
WHAT IS THE WINNING PRIZE?
The SWGG Champion gains the 2024 SWGG Championship title, the Crystal Mic Trophy, a recording session with The Experience Band & Show and a $2,500 cash prize!

📬 Poets will be notified if they’re selected to perform on the morning of Tuesday, May 6th

Here’s what you need to know:
🎶 Poets will choose their own go-go track from a curated list
📝 All performances must be original work
⏱️ Performances must not exceed 3 minutes
🎤 You’ll perform your piece live over a go-go beat by The Experience Band & Show
🔥 After Round 1:
➡️ Top 10 poets advance to online voting
➡️ Public will vote to determine the Top 5
➡️ Semifinals take place late May/early June
🎉 Finale at the 33rd National Giant BBQ Battleon the Pepsi Lay’s Art to Go-Go Stage — June 21st!
