Join us on June 28th, 2017 for “Echoes of the Invisible Woman†Spoken Word Poetry Fundraiser to hear stories of women’s first-hand past experiences, their stories of survival, perseverance, and revival.
Each year, approximately 20,000 individuals return home in our region from serving their time in prison. Most of these men and women will experience great difficulty in managing basic necessities for successful reentry into society. These include difficulties in finding work, housing, reuniting with their children and family and even accessing mental health services that are crucial for recovery. Through services provided at Community Family Life Services, everyone that comes through our doors has a fighting chance at success.
“Echoes of the Invisible Woman†will raise funds that directly help us respond to our community’s most pressing needs of women returning home from prison.
We are excited to have Marc Mauer, Executive Director of The Sentencing Project as the Keynote Speaker.
Admission is free, but a ticket is required.
