Description:

On July 3, the eve of America’s Independence Day, WPFW reflects on what to the Negro is the 4th of July by offering a free screening of Barry Farm: Community Land and Justice in Washington, DC. The documentary captures the long history of the Barry Farm community of Southeast founded during Reconstruction, and explores the dichotomy of African American vulnerability and resilience.

The screening is presented by WPFW, Busboys and Poets, the Bertellsman Foundation, and the DC Legacy Project, and will be held at Busboys and Poets Brookland at 6:30pm, followed by a conversation with filmmakers Samuel George and Sabiyha Prince, facilitated by Program Director, Katea Stitt.

Seating is first come first serve, and doors open at 6PM.
