Enjoy a premiere of the short film Melanin King Project that tells the story of two tribes at war for generations, on a quest to find their purpose and reclaim their history.
This is a big night for the Melanin King Film produced by DMV native Brittani Taylor Brown. This film highlights many issues and disparities that disconnect people of color in the United States with education and our relatives on the African Continent. We invite you to be a part of this interactive conversation with esteemed panelists, to discuss this crucial issue, education in the 21st century from a global lens. Panelists include DC Council-member Trayon White, international recording artist and educator Gabriel "Asheru" Benn of Guerilla Arts Inc., and Tony Small of the BGCA National STEM Advisory Board. Moderated by CEO of Many Mentors, Keshia Ashe. This dialogue will be broadcasted LIVE via @tribeswaliga IG. We will also have performances by IMAG, youth poets and musical artists.
We look forward to seeing you there! Click here to get your tickets.
