Politics and Prose at Busboys and Poets 14th & V welcomes Annabelle Gurwitch to present her new book "Wherever You Go, There They Are: Stories About My Family You Might Relate To."
The former co-host of Dinner and a Movie, Gurwitch is an actress, comedian, and writer most recently of I See You Made an Effort, which she has turned into a touring stage production. In her third book, Gurwitch looks closely at family—both the one she was born into, which has strong Southern Jewish roots, and the ones she has adopted through shared interests or accidents of geography. By turns poignant and funny, Gurwitch’s essays roam from fantasies of the famous people she might really be related to and the part of Massacre Island that will someday be hers, to lunches at Florida retirement homes.
Gurwitch will be in conversation with Barbara Ehrenreich, author of Nickel and Dimed.
