Author and climate action leader, Bill McKibben will speak at Busboys and Poets on March 20, calling out the four big banks that are burning up the planet by continuing to invest in fossil fuels.
McKibben, founder of Th!rdAct, a new movement of experienced Americans demanding climate action, will be in DC for the Tuesday, March 21 National Day of Action (3.21.23), when Th!rdAct members and allies will hold a day-long set of protests against the four biggest banks funding climate destruction: Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and Citi. Third Act’s year-long campaign demanding the Big 4 Dirty banks (Chase, Wells Fargo, Citibank and Bank of America) divest from fossil fuels is drawing to a close. Our demands have been met with silence, so it’s time we take bigger actions to match the gravity of our dire planetary crisis. There’s no time to waste! In the words of the inimitable Bill McKibben, we must stop burning stuff now! Third Act is calling for a National Day of Action on March 21, 2023 (yes, that’s 32123!).
Washington DC will be one of Third Act’s main targets on this big day, and Third Actors from VA, DC, and MD will come together to show and tell the Big 4 Dirty banks the error of their ways.
