Description:

The event will feature Mr. Shenker, author of The Egyptians: A Radical Story for a discussion that will highlight the book’s focus on re-conceptualizing the Egyptian revolution and counterrevolution as part of much deeper processes that transcend Egypt’s borders.

Jack Shenker is a writer based in London and Cairo who has reported from across the globe. Formerly Egypt correspondent for the Guardian, his coverage of the Egyptian revolution won multiple prizes and his investigation into migrant deaths in the Mediterranean Sea was named news story of the year at the prestigious One World media awards. His first book, The Egyptians: A Radical Story, was published by Allen Lane in January 2016."
