Politics & Prose at Busboys and Poets 14th & V will welcome author/illustrator Lulu Delacre on Wednesday, March 23 for an event. Her newest book is ¡Olinguito, de la A a la Z! / Olinguito from A to Z! This bilingual, alliterative alphabetical adventure celebrates the Ecuadorian cloud forest and all its inhabitants, but most especially the olinguito. This round-eyed, bushy-tailed mammal, also known as a tutamono (“night monkey”), makes multiple appearances throughout pages that are full to bursting with names of plants and animals that share the olinguito’s environment. Extensive explanatory text includes the story of how a zoologist at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History discovered this mysterious creature only recently, publishing his findings in 2013.
