May Nasr:Â May Nasr is the Partners Global Director for Partners Yemen. She is an expert in small and medium entrepreneurship economic development, microfinance training needs assessment, local community capacity building, integration and marketing outreach. She has worked in Lebanon and throughout the Middle East and Arab Region (Yemen, Jordan, Tunisia, Bahrain, Syria), including Indonesia, on U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP)-funded programs and for local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Laura Kasinof: Laura is a freelance journalist whose work focuses on the Middle East. She reported from Yemen for the New York Times from 2011-2012, and covered antigovernment protests and the political uprisings. She is the author of Don’t Be Afraid of the Bullets: An Accidental War Correspondent in Yemen, which chronicles her experiences as a journalist during the uprisings. She has been featured in news outlets such the BBC, NPR and Al Jazeera, and has also worked as a consultant for Chatham House. Her work has been supported by the Fund for Investigative Journalism and the International Center for Journalists.
Mohammad Alshami
Mohammad is a freelance trainer and consultant with a focus on youth activists and was one of Syracuse University’s Maxwell School’s Leadership for Democracy Fellows (LDF). Additionally, he has worked with international organizations such as the Woodrow Wilson Center, Saferworld and USAID, and has founded a few Yemen-based organizations such as Resonate Yemen and Yalla Shabab. He also helped establish the largest youth advocacy organization in Yemen. He has trained over 200 youth activists across Yemen, and organized more than 10 advocacy campaigns.
