By popular demand, Story League returns to Busboys and Poets for one of our famous funny-story contests! We are the nation's only funny-story-telling competition.
This is a TRUE OPEN MIC! All are welcome to submit their name on-site to tell a 5-minute true funny story. No judges: Audience picks the only winner (funniest story) of the night, who receives $100 and is guaranteed a spot in our next $500 Championship at Black Cat DC or The DC Improv Comedy Club! We will hear 10 randomly selected stories. NO THEME, just be funny.
Doors will open at 7:30 PM. No cash tickets will be sold at the event pre-sale only. Busboys and Poets Brookland is 1.5 blocks from Brookland–CUA Metro Station (Red Line) at 625 Monroe Street NE, across the street from the main CUA entrance. There is also a large parking garage in the same building as the restaurant. Table service, with full menu and drinks, is available in the Pearl Bailey Room during the event.
NOTE: This special one-time contest event is expected to sell out well in advance of the night.
