Politics & Prose at Busboys and Poets presents Alissa Quart reading from her book Monetized.Â
Quart is a journalist, creator of the Emmy-nominated The Last Clinic, author of Republic of Outsiders, Hothouse Kids, and Branded, and—not least, a poet. Her first collection of poems is a deft and sharp series of takes on the myriad ways marketplace value pervades daily life and contemporary culture.
Quart will be in conversation with Barbara Ehrenreich, author of the classic Nickel and Dimed, with whom she co-edits the Economic Hardship Reporting Project, a nonprofit for reporting on inequality.
