#SocEnt: Beyond Ferguson: Designing the Future of the Movement - A Social Innovation Lab with DC+Acumen
Join Busboys and DC+Acumen for our monthly Social Innovation Lab where attendees will hear from activist and thought leaders representing The Sentencing Project, DCFerguson, and ToLiveUnchained. Panelist will discuss the movement against police brutality and mass incarceration, ways individuals can get involved, and the future of the movement. Attendees will have the opportunity to offer their input on how to make the movement more sustainable and inclusive. This event is free and open to the public. Please register here.
#SocEnt X Social Innovation Lab is a collaborative effort between Busboys and Poets, and DC+Acumen. The goal of the Social Innovation Lab is to bring together individuals from all a variety of racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds to build a community that gains the practical skills to address social issues. The Social Innovation Lab will cover a variety of topics, presented in a variety of forms, such as: workshops, panel discussions, community forums, design thinking exercises, and artistic performances. It takes place once a month at Busboys and Poets in Brookland.
DC+Acumen, a self-organized, volunteer-led group that seeks to educate and empower the Washington D.C. community to be social change-makers through educational events, workshops and +Acumen online courses. Through out work we support Acumen’s mission to create a world beyond poverty.
