Description:

Hear from activists Matthew and Jenna, recently returned from the West Bank, alongside Palestinian activist Tariq Hathaleen on the ongoing Israeli ethnic cleansing campaign in Masafer Yatta, the region depicted in the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land. Speakers will cover Israel's increasingly brutal occupation through the eyes of Umm al-Kheir, the village where Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen was murdered in July. Surrounded by Israeli settlers on all sides, Umm al-Kheir has remained steadfast against decades of attempts to evict its inhabitants.

Matthew, Jenna, and Tariq will discuss Awdah's legacy, the wave of repression that has followed his murder, and ongoing attempts by the Israeli state to eliminate the village through settler violence, settlement expansion, harassment by Israeli occupation forces, routine home demolitions, and denial of basic infrastructure. They will also explain the civil resistance movement in Masafer Yatta and the international solidarity movement that supports it.
