Since 2005, Busboys and Poets has been more than a restaurant and bookstore. It has been a home for poets, artists, activists, and dreamers. Named in honor of Langston Hughes—who once worked as a busboy before becoming a world-renowned poet—Busboys has become a cultural hub for truth-telling, healing, and community across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.
Come be part of this legacy as we celebrate 20 years of poetry, art, and activism.
