Description:

Our new visual art exhibition, Afrofuturism and More, features the work of Broadie, Hadiya Williams, Mikki Taylor, Keiona Clark and Joseph Parelhoff.Broadie’s images celebrate black portraiture incorporating symbols of bondage and growth on a surreal backdrop.

Hadiya Wiliams advances the use of artificial intelligence by creating her Ancestor Index images. Referencing African Kuba and Mud Cloth, Hadiya layers her portraits of black women with futuristic regalia. The patterns are feast for the eyes and imagination.
Tropics anyone? Mikki fuses island colors and imagery in her celebrations of the black body.
She’s a winner. Keiona addresses the complications of living set in a fight ring. With boxing gloves and ballet slippers, her images conjure positivity yet grounded in struggle.
