This is a screening and discussion of the documentary film “Voices of Brookland Manor.” The film depicted residents’ grassroots efforts to prevent their displacement and/or ensure that residents would have guaranteed housing in the expected new RIA mixed-use development slated to replace Brookland Manor.
We will screen the film to provide context to the audience, but the program itself will be a group oral history with multiple generations of Brookland Manor residents. The panel will tell stories about the neighborhood’s history and daily life in the community.
