On Sunday August 12th at 6 pm, LIT Comedy will celebrate its birthday and the start of its ninth season by unveiling its new 2018–19 cast. You'll see the new teams and its oldest, sweatiest team, Hot & Sweaty, which is turning eight years old!

LIT Comedy is your one-stop shop for all your comedy needs. We’re passionate about comedy, and we're constantly growing & increasing the laughter in Washington DC. LIT started in 2011 as Laugh Index Theatre, a producer of comedy variety shows with an emphasis on long-form improv, with our already year-old, six-person improv troupe, Hot & Sweaty, as our headliner. By June 2013, we had produced many shows and had our own improv festival. Now as LIT Comedy, a comedy theatre, LIT houses over sixty performers who comprise eight unique comedy teams that perform in our shows, which are now anywhere from one to four times a week. In addition to our shows and annual festival, LIT offers comedy classes for all levels of students, corporate training, and workshops for anyone ready to exercise their funny bones.
