Aviva Kempner’s Rosenwald was recently released on DVD with 39 bonus features, one of which is “Langston Hughes: He was a poet who embraced the people”. From a bus boy at the Wardman hotel in Washington D.C. to an acclaimed poet, Langston is known for giving voice to African Americans during a time they didn’t have one and embracing the community. This bonus feature captures when Langston received a Rosenwald fund grant in 1931 and also lived in Washington, DC.
