An Emmy-award winning TV journalist, creator and host of the PBS show Artsbeat, and senior correspondent for and host of PBS NewsHour, Brown is also an accomplished poet. Following Ezra Pound’s dictum that “poetry is news that stays news,†Brown draws on events that made headlines, revitalizing the recent past in verse that bridges geographic and cultural distances. Brown will be in conversation with Gwen Ifill, moderator of PBS’s Week in Review and author of The Breakthrough.
