Politics & Prose at Busboys and Poets 5th & K welcomes Ulrich Boser to present his new book "Learn Better: Mastering the Skills for Success in Life, Business, and School, or, How to Become an Expert in Just About Anything."
A former contributing editor to U.S. News & World Report, Boser is currently a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, where he serves as the founding director of the Center’s science of learning initiative and writes extensively on education. In his third book he argues that how we learn is as important as what we learn. Further, he shows that learning itself is a skill anyone can master, one that doesn’t depend on innate ability, but on six key steps. The author of The Gardner Heist and The Leap, Boser conveys these steps in engaging and witty prose, telling stories to help make the lessons stick.
Boser will be in conversation with Greg Toppo, USA Today’s national K-12 education writer. This event is supported by the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D.C.
