Rise + Rhyme is a weekly morning storytelling and performance series for children ages 5 and under with the goals of teaching children to engage with their community, learn to love performing and become rising artivists!
Today's artist is:Oh Susannah!
Oh Susannah brings instruments & scarves, familiar & original songs,
Bodies movin' & groovin', everybody dancing along!
We’ll express our feelings, through the rhythms that we hear,
We're exploring music, voices loud & clear!
Oh Susannah is Susan McNelis! Susan's been performing & educating children for the past 20 years in hundreds of venues in the DMV area, including the Kennedy Center & the National Theatre. She earned a BFA in Drama from Illinois Wesleyan University, won songwriting awards, and was voted Best Children's Entertainer by readers of Washington Parent Magazine. Three Oh Susannah CDs are available at shows, cdbaby.com or as downloads from iTunes. Singing for grown-ups is fun, too - Susan's a member of the DC Labor Chorus!

We ask that caregivers teach each child how to begin to support performing arts with a $5 admission per child. Additional donations for the performer are always appreciated.
Rise + Rhyme is held every Monday morning in Hyattsville, MD and Takoma, Brookland & 14th&V DC and every last Tuesday of the month at 9:30 AM at Busboys and Poets in Shirlington.
