Description:

Why so serious?! If you are like us, you have found it hard to find things to laugh about. Working to change the world is grueling and daunting work, but the pursuit of happiness is what we are fighting for! So we are making time to LAUGH!

Come out to Shirlington and get your ribs tickled, massage your funny bone, slap a knee or two. Because LAUGHTER is an act of resistance!

Produced by Allan Sidley:

A comedian, improviser and lyricist, Allan is a jack of all trades. Allan's humor is dry, and a little wet from perspiration, usually. He pokes fun at Jews, mostly his Mom & Grandma, and dissects cultural taboos like online dating while balding or being a great +1 for a funeral. Often serious with hints of silly, Allan manages to keep dark topics light-hearted and his audiences on their toes (so bring comfortable shoes). His comedy has been described as, "great for first dates."

He's opened (the door for) Sinbad, and toured throughout Eastern Europe in the summer of 2011 (not for comedy, just a fun fact). He did however recently headline the Church of Satire comedy club. In addition to running comedy shows at Busboys & Poets in Takoma, Shirlington, and 14th & V, he manages the Tysons Comedy Cellar and shows under his production company Sidley Standup. Follow @SidleyStandup on IG & Twitter to stay up to date with shows and content.

Fresh off his performance at the Semifinals of the World Series of Comedy representing Washington DC come experience this rising stars’ unique world view.
Aimee Lee Savage: Aimee Lee Savage has been a business executive, lawyer, mom, wife, and ex-wife. Her signature is to bring a seasoned, yet joyful, perspective to the full range of female experience. And human experience, since females ARE human! Aimee believes that middle age happens to the best of us (if we’re lucky), and if you are paying attention, it’s really funny! Besides doing stand-up, Aimee does improv and monologues. She is a founding member of Sons N’ Roses, an indie improv team that explores family dynamics in performances around the DMV area. Earlier this year, Aimee appeared in The Feminine Experience, an improvised homage to Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues, at the Washington Improv Theatre. You can stay current on her projects and upcoming performances at Aimeeleesavage.com.

Maddox Pennington: Maddox Pennington is a local nonbinary writer and comic. When they’re not teaching college writing, you can find them performing comedy in many of DC’s finest dive bars.

After countless open mics, she began to rise in the Baltimore comedy scene as a force to be reckoned with. Known for her quick wit and comebacks, she is definitely a spitfire on the mic. In her short comedy career, she has won more than 15 competitions, been a finalist in Magoobys New Comedian of the Year Competition, headlined various shows in Baltimore, DC, Delaware, Ohio, NYC, Las Vegas, and even Jamaica. She is the unanimous winner of Comedy Wars DMV and has been a finalist in Kevin Hart's "Hart of the City" on Comedy Central. Known as the "roast queen" of Baltimore, and an improv master, she's sure to leave a lasting impression. Follow her on IG @ redcuplo & FB as PlainOlDLo.
