DCPFAF Poetry for Freedom: A Night to Support the Palestinian Film & Arts Festival in DC
Poets, musicians, singers, and spoken word artists take the stage to support the upcoming 2014 DC Palestinian Film and Art Festival by performing pieces related to freedom. This year the DCPFAF is dedicated to Gaza and we want to lift our voices together to show how the beauty of life flourishes within Palestine even amid war and occupation. As we call for justice for Palestinians and the end of the occupation, we must join together with our friends and family in the DC area and Busboys and Poets is a great place to do that. This will be an open mic with several special featured guests.

The DC Palestinian Film and Arts Festival (DC-PFAF) is a not for profit, volunteer run annual project. It is in its fourth year and aims to showcase the work of Palestinian filmmakers and artists for audiences in Washington, DC and its surrounding areas. It is a unique festival in that the stories told through this project are not necessarily about the Palestinian/Israel conflict, nor are they necessarily stories about Palestinians, but they are stories that reflect the dynamic formation of a transnational identity common to Palestinians and diasporic communities more generally. This year the DCPFAF is October 2 - 5.
