Join author, poet, and activist, Lemuel LaRoche (also known as Life the Griot) at the 14th and V Street Busboys and Poets on October 15th, 2014 for the film screening of "LIFE: The Griot".

"LIFE: The Griot" is an inspirational film documenting the travels, experiences, and ongoing efforts of Lemuel LaRoche in constructing a more progressive, developmental, and positive experience in underprivileged communities.
"Life" organizes with urban communities with a focus on youth. Using the game of chess and it's philosophies, Lemuel implements tactical, and strategic thinking practices to instill foresight, confidence, and the skill-sets needed to confront a bigger picture.
Lemuel LaRoche/ "Life" has written several books, and is also a touring poet. His organization Chess and Community has interfaced with local governments, youth organizations, and communities all over the country for the sake and sole purpose of bettering lives.(http://
Life is a father, husband, activist, and inspirational figure to the lives and communities he reaches out to.
This film screening will be followed with a poetry reading by Life: The Griot himself!
