Description:

The Literacy, Empowerment, & Acti on Project (LEAP) invites you, or an organization on your behalf, to join Nikki Giovanni and Juanita Britton (Queen Mother Nana Botwe Adobea II of Konko), at the Nikki Giovanni/LEAP for Ghana Scholarship Fund Benefit.

Nikki Giovanni will give a special reading and talk at the benefit.

Since 2012, LEAP has journeyed to Ghana to train teachers, provide books, and offer empowerment workshops for girls and boys in the village of Konko. At the benefit, LEAP team membersÂ Kwame Alexander, Tracy Chiles McGhee, Lindsay A. Young, David Miller, and Kenneth Braswell will share information on our work, as well as the 2014 Nikki Giovanni/LEAP scholarship recipients of Konko Village in the eastern region of Ghana.
