The National
Fair Housing Alliance, is hosting a special poetry slam to
build interest in issues of justice, fairness and equity. America
is the land of opportunity but not everyone has equal access to
the doors of opportunity. While we have made great advancements,
there is still more work to do. We have come as far as we have
because of the great work and sacrifices of people like Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr., Fannie Lou Hamer, Ida B. Wells, and Cesar
Chavez. But we cannot rest on their laurels; there is more work to
be done and more doors to open.
