Description:

The American-Arab Discrimination Committee presents a film screening of the documentary Madam Parliamentarian

The event will include a screening of the documentary film ?Madame Parliamentarian? which was produced, directed and narrated by Lebanese-American filmmaker Rouane Itani and depicts women?s active participation in Lebanon?s political life.

Although Lebanon is considered the most progressive nation in the Arab world, only four of the 128 Lebanese parliament members are women.  The documentary explores the reasons behind this situation and examines solutions adopted by other countries to increase the number of women in political leadership.

In addition to the documentary screening, there will be an open discussion followed by a Q&A segment with the filmmaker on Women in Politics.
