Writes Back: Short Stories from Young Writers in Gaza, Palestine

The editor, Refaat Alareer , and three
contributors Yousef Aljamal, Rawan Yaghi, and
Sarah Ali, will share their experiences growing up in
Gaza under siege and blockade, and will discuss their decision to
start writing fiction after Israel's Operation Cast lead in
2008-9. Their stories are acts of resistance, proclaiming the
continuing resilience and creativity of Palestinian culture in the
face of ongoing obstacles and attempts to silence them.
