Description:

Co-founder of the peace group CODEPINK Medea Benjamin has just returned from a harrowing trip to Egypt where she was detained at the airport, beaten, and deported by the authorities. Though they gave no reason for their actions, this was quite clearly done to prevent Medea from joining an international delegation of women going through Egypt to Gaza for International Women's Day. She sustained a fractured arm with a torn ligament from the terrible assault. As of the time of this posting, the Egyptian government has deported several more of the delegates headed to Gaza, including Nobel Peace Prize winner Mairead MaGuire.

If you can't make it, take a photo of yourself with a personalized "Get Well Soon!" sign for Medea, send it to Sara.codepink@gmail.com , and we'll make sure Medea sees it
