The 202Creates Closing Event is a celebration of the completion of a month-long campaign promoting and amplifying the DC creative community.
Spend the evening saying a sweet sayonara to 202Creates Month with music, food, and fun! Busboys and Poets Anacostia to be filled to the brim with locally curated art, delicious food and drink, and phenomenal performances. You won't wanna miss out!
Performers & Artists
Future Band was created in 2013 and has since thrilled audiences with their tremendous energy and ability to entertain people of all ages. Melding the essence of Hip Hop, Soul, and GoGo; and in the styles of The Roots with a touch of Earth, Wind & Fire. Future Band combines the very best of many genres of music, while entertaining and captivating audiences with their sincerity and power. Their newest project "Black Friday" released in November 2018 which has been met with rave reviews.
DJ Malcolm Xavier is one of the best and most sought after DJ’s in DC. As the Nightly DJ on 93.9 WKYS and the go-to DJ for all the major clubs/venues in D.C. and for trusted brands including Nike, the Washington Redskins, and Broccoli City Festival. As a musical influencer within the District of Columbia, Malcolm Xavier’s popularity gave way to a weekly party series, Joy Club DC, which features top DJ’s from across the country at the buzzing venue Cloak & Dagger. His goal is simple and singular, to be the best; a goal he is quickly proving to be in arms reach.
Art Auré is a classically trained singer songwriter, merging her breathtakingly beautiful voice with a brilliant fusion of pop, funk, and soul taking her audience on an emotional journey.
Locally & Regionally Curated Art: Busboys and Poets goes to great lengths to highlight DC-area artists. Curator Carol Rhodes Dyson works tirelessly to build meaningful relationships with the artists and makers who grace the walls of each location, curating with the utmost care and respect.
