Ashley’s photographs in the main gallery area reflect familiar moments with lovers, friends and parents. The memories and reflection sweeten present moments.
Chawky’s images in the Robeson Room are about love too, a love of values and community. His images are not sweet. They flaunt deliberate injustice and unjustified wars, evoking emotions that question the current political state of affairs and strong messages created to embolden us to reconsider our beliefs, words and actions.
